What's new at Oak Point? Hint: It is an all-natural way to...

...repair damaged skin cells and decrease inflammation that causes pain developed by NASA!

At Oak Point we love integrating ancient wisdom of healing arts with modern technology to enhance your health and well-being. We decided to add Light Therapy into our practice in order to get even better results FASTER! Sounds too good to be true. How can a light therapy help?

Here is how it works:
In the same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into plant tissue, high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural biostimulatory effect in human tissue. Research has shown that phototherapy can

  • increase circulation,
  • accelerate tissue repair,
  • kill acne bacteria,
  • decrease inflammation,
  • improve skin tone,
  • texture and clarity, and
  • ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, and arthritis.

Research indicates that cells absorb particles of light (photons) and transform their energy into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the form of energy that cells utilize. The resulting elevation of ATP is then used to power metabolic processes.

This treatment could be performed as a stand-alone BUT we love combining it with our treatments. I use it with my Sports Acupuncture patients, Anna uses it with her Cosmetic Acupuncture patients and even our Massage Therapist Cho uses it during her treatments when necessary.
